A career education program for high school students in which they learn how jobs and future technologies are changing, then use generative AI and job creation cards to design a new job of their own

Program Content

Students look at how jobs have changed from the past to the present and into the future, learning that jobs do not simply disappear but evolve and expand. They then apply the three principles of job creation (discovery, specialization and convergence) to generate ideas for new jobs, and use generative AI to define why each new job is needed and what it involves.

Hands-on Practice with the Three Principles of Job Creation

• Generating new job ideas through discovery, specialization and convergence

Defining New Jobs with Generative AI

• Using AI to come up with a job title, role and required skills for each new job
• Exploring personal or promising career paths through job creation
• Completing a presentation worksheet, including images
