Schumpeter Entrepreneurship at Namyangju Hopyeong Middle School

A program in which students generate startup ideas and write business plans, using Schumpeter's concept of creative destruction

OVERVIEW

How we ran it

Schumpeter Entrepreneurship Program

A hands-on entrepreneurship program for middle school students that uses the Schumpeter board game to explore entrepreneurship and creative destruction,

and guides students in turning everyday problems around them into startup ideas

Program Outcomes

  • A total of 11 classes and 255 students took part.
  • ★★★★★ 4.5 points

"I'd never had any interest in starting a business, but this activity got me interested. I realized a startup doesn't have to be something grand. If you start by trying to fix small everyday inconveniences and keep building on the idea, before you know it you could actually start a business."

"Today's class made me more interested in entrepreneurship and made me want to learn more. Thinking that it's about making life more practical and convenient, not just for me but for other people too, I felt proud just from doing this activity."

Program Content

Students learn about entrepreneurship through Schumpeter's concept of creative destruction and experience industry change and startup opportunities through board game activities.
