"I used to have a vague fear that many jobs will disappear in the future and that it will be hard to find work. Now I feel that instead of just being afraid, I need to look into what new jobs will appear and what I should do to prepare for them."

"Through this activity, I learned how to approach the High School Credit System and about future jobs, which brought me a little closer to my own future career. It was great to think more about the future, for example by looking at future technologies and combining them to create new jobs."

Program Content

Students examine how jobs have changed from the past to the present and into the future, learning that jobs do not simply disappear but evolve and expand. They then apply the three principles of job creation — discovery, specialization and convergence — to generate new job ideas, and use generative AI to define why each new job is needed and what it involves.
